A SummerTime Mt. St. Helens Wedding
When P + T first reach out to me, the knew they wanted to have their small 20 person micro wedding near Mt. St Helens. We first had a couple ideas of some popular trails or even the nearby Coldwater Lake or Johnston Ridge Observatory. The hardest part was trying to find a spot in the area that could accommodate their group size. Ultimately P + T came to me and realized they already knew of a perfect spot that they have been to several times before, that could accommodate their group and wouldn't require a permit. T is a hunter and does a lot of hunting in the area with his family. They decided on a dispersed camping site that hunters usually use that required about 20 miles of unpaved roads and a 5 minute off-roading excursion to get to. Because the area is first come first serve, P + T had family go up there a day before and setup a tent with all of their decor, chairs, and tables and left a note that saying they were using the area the next day for their wedding in case anyone came to the site. Their day came and it started out sunny with Mt. St Helens out in it's full glory.

Mt. St. Helens Wedding Reception
After their ceremony, guests were able to pick wild berries right there and eat them on the spot. Of course that was not quite a fulfilling dinner, so they did provide a charcuterie spread and sandwiches under a pop up tent they had setup. Followed by toasts by family and friends. It was also the bride's sister's Birthday so P + T wanted to have her blow out candles on the cake that they would cut.
Bride and groom Hiking Mt. St. Helens
After the couple ate, shared toasts, and ate cake, their family took care of the tear down of their tables, chairs, canopy, and coolers of food and drinks while we went and did a little hiking together for some couples photos. By this time, Mt. St Helens was covered in clouds and was no longer viewable, but the scenery still did not disappoint. We hiked through wildflowers, picked some more berries, and ended the evening with some fog rolling in and doing some champagne spraying photos after sunset.
