L + E decided they wanted to elope on Bainbridge Island but they also wanted to combine a bit of a micro wedding into their plan, so they opted to do a little bit of both! Their day consisted of 3 locations: the Ted Spearman Justice Center, Grand Forest West Trail, and Bainbridge Brewing.
Ted Spearman Justice Center wedding Ceremony
The Ted Spearman Justice Center is a great location that is indoors for couples wanting to elope on Bainbridge Island during the colder months with guests. It's nothing spectacular in terms of scenery or vibes but gets the job done. L + E wanted a quick ceremony with all their friends and family followed by group photos.
Why The grand Forest West is Perfect for Elopement Photos
After L + E did a bunch of group photos, we drove to Bainbridge Island's Grand Forest. Their guests went and hung out downtown while the three of us had our own adventure. It was a drizzly late fall day so we hiked along the 2.3 mile trail carrying clear umbrellas and rain jackets. The Grand forest is a perfect location for couple's photos and here is why:
- Lush, Natural Backdrops All Year
Grand Forest offers a variety of rich, textured landscapes , from towering evergreens and moss-covered trails to open meadows and soft forest light. This variety gives you multiple looks in one location without a long hike, making every photo feel unique and full of depth.
- Easy Access While Still Feeling Remote
Grand Forest feels like a true Pacific Northwest escape, yet it’s incredibly easy to reach. Located centrally within Bainbridge Island, couples can enjoy a forested, secluded setting without committing to a long drive or complicated logistics, making it perfect for a relaxed, stress-free elopement day.
- A Peaceful Alternative to Busier Island Spots
While Bainbridge has charming waterfronts and popular viewpoints, Grand Forest offers a quieter, more private setting. It’s perfect for couples who want to exchange vows or to feel personal and un-rushed, without the foot traffic common in more well-known locations.

Bainbridge Brewing Reception Venue
After our jaunt in the forest, the couple decided they wanted a fun evening hanging out with their friends and family drinking beer and playing pin-ball. L + E rented out the entire brewery at Bainbridge Brewing to host 35 of their friends and family. They wanted strictly candids for the rest of the night so they could enjoy themselves with their loved ones.
